Dairy Free Soy Free Shortening

UPDATE: Please make sure to double check ingredients each time you buy. I hope I never overlook anything but it’s possible and ingredients can change. A lot of my posts are over two years old and since I have gone back dairy soy free I have discovered a few items I use to buy all the time that now have soy in them.

We are in the season of baking. I have something that will make dairy & soy free baking much easier, Spectrum All Vegetable Shortening. This is one of the only brands of shortening I've found dairy soy free. I use the normal Spectrum All Vegetable Shortening in my pie crusts. Spectrum also makes a dairy free soy free butter flavored shortening. My cousin uses the butter flavored to make butter cream frosting for allergy free cakes & cupcakes. This shortening can be hard to find, but specialty grocery stores might carry it. I've found it at Ingles, so check your local grocery store first.

Happy Dairy Free Soy Free Baking!
