The Halloween Costume Conundrum
This will be Bel's second Halloween, and it's only 12 days away! I can't believe how fast she is growing. I am trying to figure out the perfect Halloween costume for her. She will be 16 months old so there is a lot for me to think about.
First is price. We don't trick-or-treat much, she is too young and can't eat most the candy (dairy soy allergy). We go just enough to hit a few houses for pictures, and we visit family. I don't want to spend a lot on a costume. We are lucky because Bel has older cousins to pass down costumes. On the other hand, I always feel like I should make her a costume, unfortunately I am not crafty at all.
Second is comfort. She is so young and will be in and out of a car to drive to family. I would rather her have a costume I don't have to take on and off her a lot to put her in a car seat.
Third is cuteness. I'm not sure how many Halloweens I have left that I can pick out her costume. I'm sure it won't be long before she will be telling me what she wants to be for Halloween.
So as of now I think I'm going to try and make her a comfortable monkey (too cute) costume. I will go as a tree (as in toss together a green shirt & brown pants) because I'm sure I will be carrying the little monkey around.
What kind of Halloween costumes have your little ones worn in the past? What are they going as this year? Do you make or buy your costume?
Here is my "little stinker" last year. Her first Halloween.
